TURISMO / TOURISM
TourVET (Project No.: 101183447) is a two-year international project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under Key Action 2 for Capacity Building in Higher Education, with a total budget of €382,878.13.
TourVET is an innovative project aimed at transforming tourism education and practice in Tunisia, Turkey, Palestine, and Jordan. Through an approach that integrates sustainability, cultural preservation, and innovation, the project promotes a more responsible, inclusive, and future-oriented vision of tourism.
TourVET works with Vocational Educational Training (VET) institutions, industry professionals, policymakers, and local communities by offering tailored training programmes and fostering strategic partnerships to build skills and leadership in sustainable tourism. Inclusion is a key focus of the project, ensuring the active participation of traditionally marginalised groups.
The impact of TourVET is reflected at different levels:
Educational: support for VET institutions through innovative curricula and methodologies that integrate sustainable principles.
Professional: training for tourism professionals to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily activities.
Community: involvement of local communities in using tourism as a driver of social, cultural, and environment development.
In this way, the TourVET project contributes to building a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive tourism sector, with the aim of generating lasting benefits for people, heritage, and the environment.
